HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan extends patronage to Abu Dhabi International Motor Show

His Highness Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Interior, has extended his patronage to the 12th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show that will take place 17-21 December 2008 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

"HH Sheikh Saif's patronage of the event highlights his commitment to maintaining open channels of communications between the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the community, in order to strengthen the role of 'social police' and uphold peace and security among people," said Major General Mattar Salim Bin Musaeed Al Nayadi, General Manager, IT Systems at the UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI).

"Staging an important, high-profile event such as the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show highlights the UAE's success in organizing major events. The interest from international participants in attending events here showcases the stable and secure atmosphere in the country. It also speaks for the world-class infrastructure available in the country that has been established under the guidance of our wise leaders," he added.

Frederic Theux, President of Reed Exhibitions Middle East, organizers of the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show said:

The 2008 edition of the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show will occupy 9 halls and more than 38,000 square metres of exhibit space at ADNEC.

Theux also said that the directives and the support of the Ministry of Interior were vital contributing factors in building the excellent reputation of the show over the years.

He also stated that Reed was delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Ministry in highlighting road safety, which is a major theme of the show.

The Abu Dhabi International Motor Show will showcase luxury cars, high performance cars, custom-built cars, executive saloons, concept and hybrid cars, sports cars, off road vehicles, family cars and SUVs, motorcycles and quad bikes as well as commercial vehicles such as trucks and pickups, vans and mini buses, luxury coaches, limousines, trailers and campers.

The show will also feature automotive accessories and auto-related services.

Besides the exhibits, several exciting co-located events and promotions including test-drives, product launches, license plate auctions, spot offers and prizes are in store for visitors. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Mercedes, Lexus, GMC, Toyota, Honda and Chrysler are just a few of the top brands that will be represented at this year's show.
