Al-Kutbi said:
"These courses span several topics such as Secure Safety Management of Boats Management & Operation, Crises Management & Emergency Procedures, Investigation in Marine Accidents, and Environment Management System."
Al-Kutbi added, "This course is one of the key specialized courses in marine safety, safety management, environmental management, and crises & emergency management. The Agency focuses much attention on these courses as they play a key role in maritime safety industry. Moreover, they provide good educative exposure to all Marine Agency employees."
"The objective of holding these courses is to raise the awareness level of safety & environment matters, train employees on the best methods of secure safety management and how to manage crises and emergency cases. The courses help broaden employees' knowledge and ability to carry out investigation in marine accidents through adopting the latest practices in this regard, and introduce them to safe environmental management," he added.
"The Agency is keen to proceed with holding these courses in order to provide employees with expertise necessary in all safety matters with a view to protecting lives & properties, and creating a safe working environment for employees and clients. The Agency held a Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) course in maritime safety last March, where 300 operators took part. The Course covered four main courses, namely: First Aid, Fire Extinguishing, Safe Boat Driving, and Personal Skills & Social Relations courses, so that participants could be certified as STCW holders. All these in-house training courses were run in a timetable approved by the RTA and covered theoretical as well as scientific aspects," added the Director of Registration & Licensing Department.
