This new premium lineup sets a new standard for Media Solution and multimedia home entertainment.

New product offerings that will be on show at Gitex go beyond pure technological advancement, as Samsung places new emphasis on value-added contents and services, such as the unique InfoLive function in the 7 and 8 series TVs.

InfoLive allows viewers access to streaming news, weather and stock info directly through the internet.

The TVs are also shipped with a variety of professionally created content, such as an art gallery, cooking and yoga programs, and games for the kids.

"The new series 8 and 7 TVs offer an even more sophisticated crystal design with an inlaid pattern as well as genuine stylishness, made possible by a slim design and bezel," said BJ Kim, General Manager, AV Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

"Samsung has strengthened its technological and stylish leadership in the Audio Visual industry by becoming number one TV manufacturer in the world. We are happy to launch during Gitex 2008 our new technology with the Series 8 and 7 to the rest of the region" added Kim.

Series 8 - Slimness Crystallised
For the Series 8 TVs (46, and 52 inches), Samsung incorporates its stunning new crystal design that has been so well received by consumers in 2008.

The key upgrade is a startling 50% reduction in thickness, producing a slim and narrow bezel measuring just 44.5mm.

Series 8 TVs maintain the highest standards for picture quality that consumers have come to expect from the brand.

Samsung's top-line Full HD 100Hz Motion Plus technology has been installed to minimise motion blur on fast moving scenes, while the Ultra Clear Panel enhances that top-line quality further with truer blacks and tremendous contrast ratios.

The new simplified user interface is even easier to use than before and is ideal for accessing and managing content from external memory, particularly with the unit's newly designed wheel key remote control that allows users to quickly jog through the Smart Content Manager or access frequently watched channels.

Series 8 TVs also ship with a second, pebble-shaped remote that not only adds a touch of convenience but also style and décor to the room.

Series 8 TVs usher in a new era of connectiveness with technology designed to enrich consumer lifestyles and experiences. Media solution encapsulates four key elements: InfoLive, WISELINK Pro, DLNA, and Content Library.

The innovative InfoLive feature provides constant connection with a special real-time RSS viewer for news, weather and stock information that rests tastefully overtop the current channel or input signal.

Series 7—Technology for Pioneers
Series 7 is filled with the type of innovative features and advancements required by the industry's most tech-savvy consumers who enjoy a range of self-created or downloaded multimedia content as well as Media Solution with HD peripheral devices.

In the LCD range (40, 46, and 52 inches) and the Plasma range (63 inches and 1,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio) , the new Ultra Clear Panel works to reduce glare and reflection in even the brightest rooms, further helping the unit to render even the most minute detail with accuracy.

The Series 7 also rolls out with the company's new Wide Colour Enhancer 2 which reprocesses reds, blues and greens to produce the most natural and vibrant colours available.

Recognising that TVs are no longer just for viewing broadcasts, Samsung has installed Media Solution features such as the USB connection, through which users can instantly enjoy their photos, downloaded content, and User Created Contents.

Also, the Content Library organises a variety of stored information and games, while the innovative InfoLive feature brings informative content feeds to the TV, enabling users to quickly scroll through news, weather and stock quotes in real time.

The hallmark of the Series 7 is its ease of use and connectivity. All the units in the series come installed with Samsung's Smart Content Management and new User Interface, which allow viewers to rapidly shuffle between content loaded into the unit's built-in flash memory.

Gamers and movie lovers will value the wider frequency of sound provided by the Series 7's new Down Firing Speakers and separate subwoofer. Sports enthusiasts will also appreciate the unit's Sports Mode.

With the click of a button, the picture and sound can be optimised for watching action on the field.

In addition to the great pictures, the Media solution features in the Series 7 TVs mark a paradigm shift in the industry away from ordinary and simple TVs to fill the ever-growing consumer demand for multifunctional entertainment units that gather and utilise all the technology of the household.
