Hundreds of paper recycling boxes provided by RTA to conserve environment

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) embarked on an environmental project aiming to recycle paper through provision of purpose-built boxes to all RTA agencies and departments, as a measure to conserve the environment.

The project aims to create an ideal and pollution-free environment, conserve the environment, and rid RTA offices of paper piles occupying extensive office space, according to Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamadi, Director of Administrative Services Dep't at RTA Corporate Support Services Sector.

Al Hamadi said:
"The project was launched three months earlier, specifically on 10 June 2008, in association with Red Line Co. which supplied RTA with more than 300 boxes specially prepared for paper recycling. Actual implementation of the project started last August and will span all RTA agencies and departments."


Al Hamadi added, "Archiving Section at Administrative Services Dep't has so far distributed 200 paper recycling boxes according to a time plan, starting from the Head Office then neighbouring offices and so on till all RTA offices are covered during this month. Requests for additional allocations are being considered in order to ensure full utilization of this environmental project to keep pace with the civilized drive; a key aspect of which is demonstrated by this project."

"RTA is keen to provide every support to youth projects sponsored by member companies of Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders. RTA is supporting companies, such as Red Line Co.; which is a key member of the above mentioned Establishment," said Al Hamadi in a concluding remark.
