New record daily sales on 19th anniversary of Dubai Duty Free

The new daily record surpasses that set on November 1st 2002 when sales topped Dhs4.36 million (US$1.26 million).

Commenting on the new daily achievement, Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free said, "We have been quoting new records and achievements over the past few weeks, and were particularly pleased to announce our Billion Dirham milestone two weeks ahead of schedule. This latest record is great news and will result in even higher year-end sales.

On average Dubai Duty Free handles 18,000 shopfloor transactions per day, while on the 20th December, the shopfloor recorded 28,885 transactions. Each transaction was 20% higher than average. In the Electronics and Cameras zone alone, sales topped Dhs900,000 (US$250,000) and on the same day, Perfume sales reached Dhs560,000 (US$156,000).

The new daily record is a fitting celebration for Dubai Duty Free which celebrated its 19th year of operations on December 20th.
