Dubai Women Establishment signs an MOU with Dubai Customs to establish a nursery in their campus

Following the launch of National Corporate Child Care Project by HH Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Establishment for Woman, Dubai Women Establishment yesterday to establish a nursery in the main building.

The MoU was signed by Ms Feryal Tawakul, Executive Director of Human Resource Division at Dubai Customs and Miss Reem Al Awabid, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at Dubai Establishment in the presence of number of women leaders and customs female staff.

First of its kind at the government departments' level in UAE, the MoU comes to underline Dubai Customs civilized role in achieving the generic conception of social development including full support to the family in general and the female employees in particular being key partners in the development process.

Mr. Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Director General of Dubai Customs said,

"Dubai Customs is proud of being the first organization adopting the initiative of Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wife of HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, President of Dubai Women Establishment, aiming at the necessity of providing children care centers for government female employees in view of the importance of such projects in providing support and motive to the female employee and her family'.


Ms Feryal Tawakul affirmed that "Dubai Customs used to launch vital and creative initiatives serving the interests of its employees, where we support any initiatives falling within such context especially those relating to woman. In light of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai vision provide the suitable environment allowing employees to be more productive and creative"

"Since the launch of National Corporate Child Care Project, the Establishment worked to raise awareness in all government department on the importance of child care centers to support working mothers and achieve UAE National development strategy, noting that the presence of UAE women in leadership and decision making position was not born yesterday but it's a continuation of the path of our wise leadership" said Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of the board of Dubai Women Establishment.

Miss Reem Al Awabid, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, said "Dubai Women Establishment will work closely with Dubai Customs to ensure the appropriate implementation of the project by applying National Child Care Standards, that was based on recognized benchmarks and procedures, incorporating local values, tradition and culture to serve the need of working mothers"

The model nursery, which will be established is in accordance with the highest local and international standards, and will be managed by a professional female team where Dubai customs will provide all necessary requirements including toys, educational and entertainment aid.
