Batelco is delighted to announce that for the first time, customers will be able to make VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls to International destinations on Batelco's fixed and mobile services.
The new service offers convenience by eliminating the need for 'calling cards'.
The service can be accessed by dialling 122 followed by the country code (without 00) and then the desired number.
For example to call the UK, dial 122 44 xxxx xxxxx.
"Register today for free and start benefiting from low prices, with up to 91% reduction on international calls charges to most countries in the world, excluding GCC countries," said Batelco Group Board Secretary and Company Spokesman Ahmed Al Janahi.
Calls will be charged per second and there will be one rate throughout the day (no peak/off peak).
The prices are very attractive with calls to India charged at 55 fils per minute, Pakistan at 60 fils, USA and UK 40 fils and 90 fils per minute respectively. A full list of countries that can be accessed through the new VoIP service and the call rates are available online at www.batelco.com, or at Batelco Retail Shops.
"One of the key advantages of the service is you don't need to buy calling cards anymore, and waste time scratching to reveal the code number! Just enjoy the cheapest International rates from any Batelco phone - mobile or fixed line," added Mr. Al Janahi.
To register for the service free of charge for fixed lines or mobiles, please phone 196 or visit any Batelco Retail shop.
Mobile lines can also be registered free of charge by texting the message a122 to 4554.
