Charles Barnett, CEO of Ascot Racecourse, United Kingdom, was delighted to attend ADIHEX 2008 which took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
"We are extremely grateful for being invited to visit Abu Dhabi and attend ADIHEX.

Charles Barnett BiographyFollowing a degree in Law at Christ Church, Oxford, Charles spent two years
with Protection and Indemnity Club providing marine and mutual liability
insurance followed by two years qualifying as a solicitor with Linklaters
and Paines. He then spent four years with Thomas R. Miller running business
development for a new mutual insurance club. In 1979 he joined Bibby Line,
ship owners in Liverpool, looking after legal affairs, insurance and
business development. He was instrumental in the company's involvement in
providing floating accommodation for troops in the Falklands after the
Falklands War. This highly successful contract with the Ministry of
Defence resulted in the company being able to diversify successfully out of
shipping. In 1984 he joined Haydock Park Racecourse and Haydock Park
Leisure Company as Chief Executive and remained there until 1993 when he
moved to Aintree Racecourse as Managing Director. The Grand National is
now one of the top three annual sporting events in the world and is watched
by a worldwide audience of over 600 million. Apart from football, it is the
most watched event on television in the U.K with a domestic audience of over
9.7m. The three-day John Smiths Grand National Meeting attracts a total
crowd of over 150,000 spectators.
Charles Barnett joined Ascot Racecourse as Chief Executive in May 2007.
