Splash also gave a very exclusive sneak preview to its brand new 'Friday Kinyobi' label which Splash will launch in stores in Spring/Summer 2009. The event held at the Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, was witnessed by fashion industry leaders, designers, socialites, buyers, media and other key stakeholders.

Said Raza Beig, CEO of Splash:
"Splash's third consecutive association with The Emerging Talent Show and Dubai Fashion Week reiterates our support for aspiring designers. We saw some great entries this season and the judging panel was unanimously in favour of selecting 5 finalists instead of the stipulated 3. This evening's fashion show represented some of these new designers' best work. We also gave the attending members of the media a sneak peek at 'Friday Kinyobi' which will be launched by Splash in Spring/Summer 2009."

The Emerging Talent Show opened with 'Friday Kinyobi' setting the pace for the new designers. The Japanese street-wear inspired label showcased a hybrid mix of funky and classy looks. There were black & white inspired edgy formals, bursts of colour with denim, neon leggings and accessories throwing together a very niche style.

The Emerging Talents followed that up with a show full of variations, that reflected their interpretations of Spring/Summer 2009 fashion. Finalist Arshia Khan's collection focused on being wearable and affordable, while still being 'couture'. Surbhi Jaggi showed a collection of garments influenced by ruffles and panels with teaming opaque velvets with translucent fabrics like crepe & tissue.

Designers Homa Qamar (Dubai) and Rula Abu (Jordan) also showed impressive collections respectively. Dubai-based Filipino designer duo Diane & David summed up their influences by saying, "Simplicity is the key, we feel keeping a cool, fresh and classic theme to our designs goes hand in hand with today's modern look."
