- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Centre for Responsible Business continues their well-attended and successful workshop series to create and promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awareness and build capacity for businesses in Dubai and the UAE.
The half-day research roundtable to be held on October 20th at Dubai Chamber will focus on CSR issues in the supply chain sector and will cover evidence from 800 companies surveyed in Dubai on Green Supply Chain practices, drivers and barriers or obstacles, besides highlighting the benefits of adopting such approaches, actions and tools in the implementation of GSC in business and the role of the Government in its promotion in Dubai and the UAE.
Dr. Belaid Rettab and Dr. Anis Ben Brik, authors of the Green Supply Chain Report in Dubai and speakers at the first research roundtable will share their expertise and research findings and discuss Green Supply Chain challenges in Dubai.
The Green Supply Chain Report in Dubai is the first-ever study to gauge the maturity level of companies on the subject. The study revealed, for example that only 38% consider supply chain greening when making strategic decisions, motivated mainly by meeting customers' needs (54%). Recycling and packaging are the main Green Supply Chain practices undertaken and implemented successfully by companies surveyed in Dubai.
These workshops have been designed for anyone with an interest in Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Supply Chain. As such, businesses,
government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and members of
academia and civil society are encouraged to attend.
