Saudi mobile users told to update details

Mobile phone users in Saudi Arabia have been told to update their personal details with their service provider, to stop unauthorised use of their identity. The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission has said users who do not comply face legal consequences. Saudi Telecoms' Al Jawal numbers from zero to 050 499 9999 and Mobily numbers from zero to 054 399 9999 are to be updated initially. Mobily has launched a campaign called Hawyyati, Arabic for My Identity, which encourages subscribers to update their details by offering them the chance to win a car.
