Industrialists, developers and investors praise 'Emirates Industrial City'

Emirates Industrial Cities Company has attracted a large audience to its leading project, Emirates Industrial City, at Cityscape Dubai 2008, which is currently being held at Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Center.

Various investors and economic experts expressed their admiration and appreciation for the high standards the project is showing towards establishing fully integrated and specialized economical cities in the UAE.

According to Sheik Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Chairman of Al Hanoo Holdings, the main developer for the project, there is no doubt that companies familiar with the exhibition know the sizeable revenues they open themselves up to by participating. In addition, it offers a massive time and effort-saving opportunity, enabling companies to market themselves globally, to thousands of investors. Partaking in Cityscape Dubai also provides instant access to international markets.

'Our project, especially, gained a lot of attention. It is a big city which spans 83 million square feet, and is divided into eight sections. Two of these sections comprise of 400 blocks, specified for warehouses and logistics support, which can be divided into 4000 smaller units, while the remaining six sections are specified for industrial investments, commercial activities and continuous sales centers for factories and multi-purpose business centers. The project also has the flexibility to house additional activities and other supporting services,' says Al Shakrah.

The current investment in the project stands in excess of Dhs5bn, which includes the recently launched Warehouses Project. Infrastructure for Emirates Industrial City is 100% complete, while phase one of the Warehouses Project, which forms 50% of the venture, is currently underway and scheduled to be complete within 15 months.
