Using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft, Singapore Airlines will operate four times weekly to Singapore via Dubai every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

"I believe the new Singapore Airlines flights will serve the people traveling from Riyadh well, providing them with an extensive network to major destinations worldwide. The Singapore Airlines network connects to destinations such as Australia/New Zealand and in Asia such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China,"
commented Mr Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines' General Manager Middle East.

He added,
"We believe the introduction of Singapore Airlines' new service to Riyadh will help foster a closer bilateral trade link between Singapore and Saudi Arabia. It will also boost the business and leisure travel traffic between Asia and Saudi Arabia."

Singapore, known as the gateway to Asia, is itself an exciting destination.

The leisure traveller will be surprised at the gamut of activities to do and places to visit on this island, all year round, even if only on transit.

Singapore's central location makes it an accessible place to anywhere in region.

Although a small country, Singapore is well placed as an ideal location for international events such as Formula one's first night race and the Youth Olympics in 2010.

Singapore, with a stable government, efficient workforce and good connections with its neighbors and growth markets such as China, has also positioned itself as a competitive business hub.

Riyadh will be the second city to which Singapore Airlines operates in Saudi Arabia.

The Airline will maintain its current three-times-weekly service to Jeddah, via Abu Dhabi.
