Gitex Shopper 2008 will set the stage for a series of product launches including the new generation series of Net Books which are small, low-cost, mobile computing devices, by Acer.
"Gitex Shopper gives us the ideal opportunity to launch the Net Book, because the audience is niche, knowledgeable and comes to the event with a purchase-minded mentality,"said Ashish Punjabi of Jacky's, the vendors of the Net Book who will have an extensive presence at the event.
Many sectors like digital imaging and office automation, which have caught the fancy of the market, will return to the show with a larger presence than ever before to cater to the rising demand.
Other notable innovators, like Blue Ray Technology for instance, will also have a high impact presence at Gitex Shopper 2008 with the Sony PS3 and the high definition LCD tvs also by Sony.
The perennial hot favorites, like mobile phones and lifestyle equipment including gaming computers, camcorders and digital cameras will be back with the latest.
New launches will include the new iPod, the Aspire G Predator Gaming PC, Hitachi Slimline flat panel LCD tvs amongst others.
"Many vendors have coincided the launches of their new products with Gitex Shopper 2008, which once again reaffirms the importance of the show in the retail technology calendar,"said Ms Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions and Event Management of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the organiser of the event.
On the whole, Gitex Shopper 2008 seems all set to be a dream come true for the gizmo lover and steeped with surprises for the casual visitor, which adds up to making it a show that has something for everyone.
