The second edition of 'Setting Up in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)' handbook.
The handbook, which is divided into 13 chapters, is a detailed guide for companies and individuals wishing to set up an entity in the DIFC, providing answers to some of the most important questions that often arise in the context of setting up a business there.

It provides an overall insight into the DIFC in regard to the structure, laws, rules, registration and licensing of companies, as well as the same for employment processes. Chapters are also dedicated to the analysis of the role of Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), in addition to detailed information about anti-money laundering regulations, collective investment funds, insurance guidelines and understanding Islamic finance. The book also includes valuable information on the UAE supported with figures and economic indicators.

Written by Al Tamimi & Company's prominent lawyers and experts, "Setting Up in DIFC" provides an overall insight into the DIFC courts. General information is given on the organization of the courts including their procedures, powers and limitations, the various arbitration practices that are in effect, and an overview of the means of the enforcement of judgments and orders. The authors give practical details on business financial matters such as listing structures for shares and certificates, the eligibility criteria required for going public and important information about sanctions and suspensions in the Dubai financial arena.

Husam H Hourani, Partner and Head of Banking and Finance Department and one of the authors, said:
"Understanding of the DIFC's role and influence on the business in the region is now a necessity for anyone interested in setting up a business in the UAE. 'Setting Up in the DIFC' handbook gives plenty of necessary information on operating from within the DIFC and it seeks to address some of the important business-related questions that may arise. I highly recommend this book for those who already operate in the UAE and those who are planning to do so in the future."
