According to the agreement, the Dubai School of Government will provide the two customized executive education programs: Strategic Management, and Leadership. Each program consists of a carefully-planned series of learning modules taking place at regular intervals to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need for better personal and organizational performance. The Strategic Management program is designed to be delivered over a period of five months, while the Leadership program takes place over a period of twelve months.

The first training module on Strategic Management will be delivered from October 12-14, with 23 senior participants from the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq. The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Tarek Hatem, DSG Associate Dean for Executive Education, while the course organizer is Khaled El Gohary, Director of Executive Education Programs.

The workshop is designed to enhance leaders' capacity for strategic planning, including formulating and articulating a mission and vision, analyzing the external and internal environment through SWOT analysis, and formulating and internalizing a set of long-term objectives and strategies within organizations.

Director of Executive Education Programs Khaled Al Gohary added:
"This program is one among many executive education programs that will lead to establishing the strategy of the Kurdistan Regional Government. It was designed to help officials to define the vision, mission and strategic goals of their government for the next five years, benefiting from the experience of Dubai's government in this field."

The Dubai School of Government has signed cooperation agreements with a number of countries in the region to offer customized executive education programs for public sector officials, research initiatives to develop public policy knowledge, and academic programs including a Master of Public Administration, to provide senior government officials with the tools needed for better governance throughout the Arab world.

The Dubai School of Government is a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world. Established in 2005 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, in cooperation with the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, the School aims to promote good governance through enhancing the region's capacity for effective public policy.

Toward this goal, the Dubai School of Government also collaborates with regional and global institutions in delivering its research and training programs. In addition, the School organizes policy forums and international conferences to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote critical debate on public policy in the Arab world.
