Dubai Women Establishment board meeting hailed

H.H Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum attends Dubai Women Establishment board meeting and praises current achievement.

H.H Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment (DWE)H.H Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum President of Dubai Women Establishment, wife of H.H sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Minister of Presidential Affairs, chaired a DWE board meeting on 9 October 2008 which resulted in a commitment to build on the establishment's achievements since its launch.

Another outcome of the meeting was DWE's reaffirmation of its strategic plan in the year ahead which will continue to support the increased involvement and contribution of UAE women in a multitude of sectors across UAE society along with the means through which the goal can be realized.

H.H Sheikha Manal expressed her deep satisfaction with the great strides made by the DWE in the short time since its launch last February, during which the establishment has introduced a wealth of initiatives and managed to successfully forge ties with local, regional and global institutions.

Specifically, H.H noted that among the greatest accomplishments of the DWE to date has been the launch of the National Corporate Child Care project which seeks to establish an ideal day care centers across both private and public sectors by offering a child Care International Standards that has a UAE focus.

H.H went on to praise the great strides that DWE has taken towards achieving the tenant goals of the establishment which focus on supporting women in their challenging of maintaining a good work-life balance; nurturing women leaders; providing life-long opportunities to trainees as well as employed women; cultivating conscientious citizens, and celebrating the image of women in the UAE.

Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of the board, noted that the success of the establishment is inspired and lead by Her Highness' personal commitment in ensuring that women are viewed as key figures in the country's social and economic development.

"The success that DWE has seen to date is just the beginning of the journey ahead. We are confident that through the cooperation of all DWE departments and their collective commitment to the organizational goals and strategic plan we will continue to see great successes next year and in the years to come."
said Al Marri.

DWE has recently announced a number of new programs which collectively seek to leverage the role of UAE women in society including, the Women Leadership Program and the inaugural Women and Leadership Conference, to be held from 12 - 14 January 2009 in Dubai.
