Dr. Hazem Abdelazim, CEO, ITIDA, explained that the workshop will tap into high caliber professionals who have hands on experience dealing with e-government and IT services in the Middle East.
Abdelazim said:
"Immense progress has been made regarding the technological infrastructure of the region in recent years when you consider that 91% of the UAE government has been e-enabled since the end of last year. However there is still much to improve upon and investigate, as the industry continues to move at an ever increasing pace."
"Essentially the speed of development has accelerated beyond the abilities of the people and processes set in place and it's these critical areas that will be reviewed from a best practice point of view. To have integrated systems and hardware alone is pointless if the information or services provided are not relevant or easily accessible by those they are aimed at serving," he added.
The workshop will feature relevant case studies from the Gulf region as well as international examples of best practice and implementation.
Dr. Hazem Abdelazim, continued, "Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE are all committed to enabling e-Government services. One of the challenges of implementation is providing solutions for all residents and business with high numbers expatriate nationals."
"The Egyptian ICT industry is at the forefront of outsourced solutions providers, servicing government bodies and industry through a highly qualified multilingual workforce who can deliver international class solutions in both Arabic and English," he added.
The workshop draws explicitly on immediate past experiences to provide fascinating and informative insight that can re-energize the commitment to, and roll out of e-Government solutions in the Gulf.
ITIDA will also be hosting an e-learning workshop on the 22nd October at 10am.
To secure attendance at these free of charge workshops, please register on the ITIDA stand (Hall XX, 2, Stand F2-20).
