A passionate group of 30 musicians aged between nine and 39 took part in Baltakas' interactive two day workshop to explore the realms of modern musical composition on a rich variety of instruments including strings, wind and percussion instruments.

Baltakas was visiting Dubai as part of the project "Into Dubai", which was initiated by Ensemble Modern and the Siemens Arts Program. The Goethe-Institut Gulf Region, in cooperation with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, organized the composer in residence project in Dubai.

"Into Dubai" has seen four renowned composers of contemporary music reside in Dubai from February to September this year to each create a musical piece reflecting on Dubai as an international metropolis in the Arabian Gulf.
