Jordan Aviation signs new aircraft deal

Jordan Aviation Group has signed aircraft acquisition deals for 10 Boeing aircraft of different sizes and transactions valued at $120m.
President & Chief Executive Officer of Jordan Aviation group, Captain Mohammed Al Khashman announced that the company recently acquired 4 Boeing 767, and 737-300, and expect 5 more of Boeing types during the current month of October, and then will be followed by the 10th aircraft during the month of November 2008.
Captain Al Khashman anticipated that the Jordan Aviation 10 new aircraft are to meet corporate objectives, facilitate the implementation of the five-year plan, and meet the projected growth in air traffic and tourism travel in the region.
However, the slowdown in air transport industry for a number of European and U.S airlines have smoothed the progress for Jordan Aviation to have an economically viable aircraft acquisition Deals.
Captain Al Khashman anticipated to increase the number of Jordan Aviation fleet to 30 aircraft of different models over the next year. He added that attempts of aircraft acquisitions and the merging of some of international airlines will increase the demand for aircraft of various sizes, emphasizing that there is a real inconsistency in the allotment of assets of the aviation world map. And the successful reformation of the global economy started faster than expected.
To address the significant progress in Jordan Aviation airline, Captain Al khashman stated that the company is implementing an ambitious five-year plan, that includes recruitment and training of manpower locally, regionally and globally, to attract expertise and conduct training programs for the local human resources to achieve the target of the set 3 years training plan.
He added that the company will train more than 2,000 employees in various disciplines to serve the company's operations in all Departments.
He stressed that the success of the implementation of the Training Plan requires the concerted efforts, support and facilitation of all concerned to implement it well to reach the highest levels of competency at the global level, and the upgrading of the Jordanian air transport industry will positively be reflected on the national economy.
In response to a question about the acceleration of the plan implementation or increasing the number of aircraft in the fleet in such a short period, "Captain Al khashman stated that the contribution of the new strategic partner" SwiCorp" increased the company's capability to implement its plan.
In addition to the developments taking place in major markets of the airtransport industry particularly in the U.S. and Europe.
He stressed on the importance of accelerating the modernization and development programs for the company and it's affiliated Companies to improve the investment model drawn up by Jordan Aviation Group, to become a major contributor to the national economy.
Captain Al khashman expressed optimism about Jordan Aviation plan and its rapid growth where he stated "We are aiming that the Group be one of the leading pioneers at the global level of air transport industry, and has the hallmark of a clear and positive effect on the Jordanian economy, adding that the group will follow the successful models in the region such as Emirates, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines, where global and regional situation and environment will facilitate that."

Launched its operations in 2000, It is the smallest airline that received the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate.
However, Jordan Aviation current fleet consists of 9 aircraft of various models of Boeing and Airbus, served by 650 employees. Moreover, number of aircraft will reach 19 by the end of 2008.
It is projected that staff will reach 2,500 employees for servicing the fleet and stations all over the world.
