Dubai Airport Free Zone to lure IT, Telecom & CE firms @ Gitex

Dubai Airport Free Zone will be participating at GITEX from October 19 to 23 - their 10th successive participation thus far to lure international IT, telecom and consumer electronics companies to base their GCC and Middle East operations in Dubai.

"Currently 8% of our more than 1,500 companies operating from the Free Zone are in IT, computers, Internet, electronics and electrical segments and we are hoping to attract international companies in these industry sectors to base their operations from the Dubai Airport Free Zone."
said Ibrahim Ahli, Director of Marketing at the Free Zone.

"Our key objective to participate in Gitex is to create more awareness of the services and facilities the free Zone able to provide to its IT clients."
noted Ahli.

"The exhibition also represents an exciting opportunity to meet with international investors and companies exploring business outlets in the region."
added Ahli.

"Our previous participations in Gitex have had productive results in terms of business, hence we planned to continue investing in such an important event."
he explained.

"A recently conducted study has shown that the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions are spending Dhs75bn annually on IT, computers and technology and this is expected to grow to Dhs349bn in three years. The region has surpassed the US in terms of IT spending at five per cent while the US spent an average of 4% on IT and computers."
Mr. Ahli remarked noting that this was one of the key factors for overseas tech companies looking at the region.

Mr. Ahli added that the Free Zone sales and marketing personnel will be present at the Gitex at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre to answer questions from visitors and potential investors.

Information kits with detailed information such as brochures, magazines and DVDs will be available at the 70 square metres stand.

"The location of the Free Zone within the boundaries of the Dubai Airport is a unique benefit that has attracted the large number of companies to the Dubai Airport Free Zone. The Free Zone plays a key role in providing a platform and easy access for international companies to reach GCC, Middle East and African countries with their goods and services."
said Mr. Ahli.

The online electronic services of the Dubai Airport Free Zone simplifies the procedures and allows customers of the zone to interact for a variety of services from anywhere in the world.

Facilities such as Conference Room, Lecture Hall, and Business Lounge, 24-hour Security Services, Restaurants, Postal Services, Travel Agencies, Banks and Duty Free Shop make the Dubai Airport Free Zone a self-contained location for maximum business efficiency.

"There will be many more top companies from around the world deciding to avail of the facilities in the Dubai Airport Free Zone."
