Over the past six years, the popularity of wide-screen 16:10 format laptops has risen dramatically while the demand for regular 4:3 notebooks has plummeted. In 2002, 100% of businesses were using 4:3 laptops but within three and a half years 50% of this market had switched to using widescreen. 95% of consumers are currently working on widescreen laptops with the remaining 5% of regular laptops user predicted to fizzle out entirely by 2010.

The PJ359w has a short-throw lens enabling large images to be projected from short distances in small rooms with short throw distances; from just 1.6m, it is possible to achieve a screen size of 50-inches. It delivers 2,200 lumens and 1280x800 WXGA Resolution for crisp, detailed images in any lighting situation and its HDMI 1.3 high definition signal input ensures the best image performance and supports HD signals up to 1080p.
Allowing presenters more flexibility when setting up their projectors in variable environments, the PJ359w boasts a built-in vertical keystone correction of +/-30 degrees ensuring that images are perfectly proportioned, while the preset screen mode provides the best possible picture for the users projection surface. The slim design PJ359w weighs just 1.8kg making it ideal for presenters on the go; it is ideal for table-top or mounted use in the office, classroom or on the road.
ViewSonic's PJ359w is easy to set up and comes with a direct off feature that allows busy presenters to simply unplug the projector and go without waiting for the usual cool down phase. This advanced feature also protects lamp life from sudden power blackout.
Launching at GITEX, the PJ359w is both backed by ViewSonic's superior customer support program that includes a three-year limited product warranty, ViewSonic also offers a one-year warranty on the lamp.
ViewSonic will be showcasing their products in the Amethyst room on the 1st floor of the Novotel, as well as with their partner Al Yousuf on Stand B4-1 in Hall 4 at GITEX. ViewSonic will also be holding in-store promotions at power-retailers including Emax, Sharaf DG, CompuMe and Plug Ins.
