Dollar Rent a Car was established in Oman about a year ago, catering to both inbound business and leisure travelers, as well as to the corporate automotive leasing market in Oman.

As the Middle East's car rental market continues its robust growth and Oman emerges as a regional tourism destination, attracting visitors year-round from across the globe, Dollar Rent A Car already has a 200-strong fleet of the latest model vehicles to meet both visitor and commercial demand.

Dollar also has plans to significantly increase its fleet size with addition of wide range of 2009 model vehicles.

Dollar offers two rental counters in popular locations in Muscat, and a third counter is in a very popular hotel.

Dollar's investment in Muscat complements the other Dollar outlets in the Omani cities of Sohar and Salalah.

Dollar also has plans to open new outlets in a prestigious hotel in Sohar and in the Darfur region.

The WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) recently forecasted Oman's tourism market to reach $8.84bn in 2018 from $2.5bn in 2008, with an increase in business travel also encouraging Dollar Rent a Car's further investment in the Sultanate.

"Our aggressive expansion plan in the region continues to gain momentum and the central location for our Muscat office and rental counters reflect Dollar's strategy, aimed at meeting consumer needs and exceeding the expectations of our customers. As tourism and business travel into Oman continues to escalate, so does the demand for the latest model vehicles supported by world-class rental services Sam Eltibi, executive director, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, MENA and Asia Pacific. The car rental industry is an integral part of the hospitality sector here in the Middle East, and also assists with the growing expatriate community in the Gulf. Dollar's 24 hour presence, personalized service and brand new and quality vehicles have enabled us to become the car rental company of choice for visitors to Oman."
said Vijay Raghavan, Director, Dollar Rent A Car Oman.

One of the fastest-growing organizations within the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group's Middle East franchise network, Dollar Oman maintains a large inventory of quality vehicles in Oman, as well as conveniently located outlets, to meet the automotive rental needs of tourists, business travelers and residents.
