Dubai Sports City, the world's first integrated sports city, is once again preparing to support Sportex, the premier international event for the sports, fitness, health and leisure industry in the Middle East, as countdown begins to the exhibition.

Sportex 2008 promises to get the Middle East's health and leisure industry off to a winning start when it takes place from November 3-5 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Endorsed by Dubai Sports Council and presented by Dubai Sports City, Sportex Middle East will showcase the very latest in sports, fitness, health, outdoor and stadium equipment in the region.

"Sportex is the largest business event dedicated to sport in the region. The event gives executives at Dubai Sports City the opportunity to interact with key players involved in the development of sports, stadia and fitness facilities on a global platform as well as relevant sporting authorities, developers and educational institutions."
said U. Balasubramaniam, CEO, Dubai Sports City.

Dubai Sports City (DSC), the cornerstone project of Dubailand, is a $4bn, 50 million square feet mixed-use development which will be the world's first integrated purpose-built sports city.

The Middle East is billed as one of the world's fastest growing regions for the travel and tourism industry.

The region's sports and stadium equipment market alone is worth an estimated UD$2 billion.

"The Middle East, and in particular the UAE, plays host to a number of prestigious sporting events and the UAE has been quick to recognise the added value of sports tourism. Dubai Sports City will play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the sports industry and we are pleased to be supporting initiatives such as Sportex that reflect this growth."

Sportex Middle East offers an exclusive event focused on this burgeoning market segment, providing a perfect platform for the launch of new products to a targeted audience.

Exhibitors at the 2008 edition of Sportex will include camping and outdoor equipment, fitness equipment and accessories, indoor sports equipment, track and field sports equipment, shoes and apparels, nutrition, and sport stadium facilities.

Sportex 2008 is supported by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), a world authoritative body for the sports industry and officially recognized by the IOC.

Sportex 2008 will take place from November 3-5 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
