Ahli United Bank, a Lead sponsor of the Euromoney Egypt Conference 2008

This year's Euromoney Egypt Conference will take place at the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel on the 20th and 21st of October and Ahli United Bank (Egypt) is taking a principal role in the conference through being a lead sponsor, hosting an informative workshop and an information booth which will showcase the Bank's products and services.

Each year the conference takes on a different theme, and in line with the current economic environment, this year's topic will focus on beating inflation and sustaining growth.

The conference attracts much attention from key members of the government and the financial market, and this year the conference will open with central ministerial figures HE Dr Youssef Boutros-Ghali, Minister of Finance and HE Dr Mahmoud Mohieldin, Minister of Investment.

The conference draws on international experience in leading independent debates with high level decision-makers and is a platform for outlining future banking and financial plans, in an environment conducive to interacting with key stakeholders including top officials, investors, the media and financiers.

Mr. Goold is also participating as a panel speaker in the Financing Transportation Infrastructure panel which will be discussing important issues as ways for the private sector be encouraged to invest more in Egypt's transport sector, what is the right formula for Egypt? Is the legislation adequate for sophisticated project financing in the transport sector? And what are the safety and environmental concerns?

And inline with the current economic setting, Ahli United Bank (Egypt) is hosting a workshop entitled 'Securitization' on the first day of the conference. The workshop agenda will tackle and illustrate examples along with highlighting approaches within various economic, social, and institutional contexts.

Topics such as the securitization of mortgage finance portfolios in Egypt, current market dynamics for fixed income instruments and investors' view of asset backed securities will be the major points discussed in an interactive setting.

The panel will include high profile figures from the financial and mortgage sector including Mr. Ahmed Haggag, Chief Executive Officer of Amlak Finance and Real Estate Investment, Mr. Ahmed Mokhtar, Head of Asset Management of Beltone Financial and Mr. Hazem Moussa, Founding Partner and Executive Director of Contact, all as well as participating in other areas of discussion will share their experience.
