At a press conference held in Crowne Plaza Hotel Dubai today, Mr. K. W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company, said:
"To mark our strategic focus on aggressively growing our mobile handset business in the MEA region, we are extremely delighted to announce our association with Wael Kfoury and his appointment as brand ambassador for our upcoming mobile launches."
According to LG, the endorsement deal will include Kfoury being featured in LG's marketing campaigns besides retail and promotional activities for their upcoming mobile handsets. The new handset releases will be launched as part of the Wael Kfoury Collection and will be available in the MEA market right away.
Kfoury's association with LG comes at an exciting time for the brand, which has launched several well-acclaimed models over the past few years, including LG's Chocolate, Prada, Shine, among others, and has enjoyed an impressive third quarter growth in the handset business.
Kim added that Wael and LG shared many attributes in common. "Wael Kfoury is the perfect representation of the young, fashionable and refreshing consumer that LG is targeting in the mobile segment and breathes a refreshing feel to the brand. At the same time, we believe that he truly epitomises our culture of innovation and pursuit of excellence," he said.
LG's latest campaign concept is deeply rooted in a well-researched consumer insight, Kim added. "We believe that every LG mobile phone, with its stylised looks and innovative technology, is a style icon in its own right. Our latest collection is a brilliant mix of world-class communications technology and sophisticated design, which I am confident, will appeal to the fashion-conscious, tech-savvy consumers in the Middle East," Kim added.
Kfoury added:

Kfoury will begin his exciting tenure as brand ambassador by launching a limited edition of the KF510, an exclusive gold-and-black version of the best-selling model.
