With all things turning pink this month in solidarity with breast cancer awareness and early detection, BurJuman's Safe & Sound campaign has turned to music as a means to get UAE residents proactive about early detection while taking part in a night of karaoke and listening to the sounds of a live band performance in an event aptly dubbed, Pink Pop.

Shoppers at BurJuman will have the opportunity to sing to their all-time favorite hits and later relax to the smooth beats of LOAD, a six-member band performing in a one-night stint to help further broaden the message of the importance of early detection.

"Music is a phenomenal tool and wonderful way to express a thought and to invigorate listeners to act on what is being conveyed in a hopeful and positive light. We are excited that Pink Pop will allow BurJuman shoppers to get involved in spreading the word on the importance of early detection to both the younger and older generations, in a fun and encouraging way,"

said Sabina Khandwani, Head of PR and Marketing, BurJuman.

"Early detection is the key to saving lives. We hope that through these Safe & Sound initiatives that more and more people will educate themselves on breast cancer and its symptoms, while also taking part in regular, annual check ups and self examinations," Khandwani added.

Pink Pop is part of Safe & Sound's annual campaign to help raise awareness on breast cancer in the UAE.

Pink Pop will be held on Thursday, October 16th at the Observatory at BurJuman from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, a day prior to the much anticipated annual Pink Walkathon.

The Pink Walkathon has had a steady influx of registered participants and is being held on Friday, October 17th from 8:00am.

Shoppers and guests can still register for the Pink Walkathon while attending Pink Pop.
