Jordan receives registration requests

National Arab Motors-KIA Jordan announced the start of registration for the KIA Amateur Australian Open's qualifications in cooperation with the Tennis Federation of Jordan.

The tournament will be launched under the patronage of HRH Princess Nour Hamza, at the courts of the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan from November 6th to 8th 2008.

The tournament will give Jordanian amateurs the opportunity to compete and participate in the KIA Amateur Australian Open finals during the Australian Open that will be held in Melbourne, Australia, also they will attend the finals of the Australian Open.

Mr. Nihad Zacharia, General Manager of the National Arab Motors-KIA Jordan said:
"We would like to express KIA's appreciation to HRH Princess Nour Hamza for her support. We are committed towards encouraging national sports, particularly for youth and offer the Jordanian talents the opportunity to excel on an international level."


"Our constant support to this championship comes after the previous successful sponsorships for this international event", Zacharia added.


The qualifications will be attended by Hazem Adas, president of the Jordanian Tennis Federation, and Nihad Zacharia, General Manager of the National Arab Motors- KIA Jordan. KIA motors Jordan has been selected among 16 other KIA dealers from around the world to be a part of this championship.

Amateur Participants will be between the ages of 14 and 35 (males and females) where winners will be qualified to participate in the KIA Amateur Australian Open.

The Australian Open was Kia Motors' first ever major international sports sponsorship. Since 2002, the company has deepened its relationship with tennis through its official worldwide sponsorship of the Davis Cup until 2008 and adopting tennis stars such as Andre Agassi, previously, and Rafael Nadal, currently, as global brand ambassadors.
