This is an unprecedented initiative for the municipal sector on behalf of the Department of Municipal Affairs.

This year's NAJAH Exhibition marks the first time the three municipalities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi have coordinated in a joint effort to recruit Emiratis who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career path in the municipal sector.

This union is in line with the vision and objectives set forth by the Government of Abu Dhabi as well as the goal of the municipal sector becoming a leading supporter of Emiratisation.

The Department of Municipal Affairs and three municipalities will also be launching their "Our Promise to You" campaign at NAJAH.

This initiative was developed to communicate the DMA and municipalities commitment to international best practices within the municipal sector and in providing the best possible customer service to Abu Dhabi residents.

In addition, the DMA is promising a rewarding career path for young, motivated UAE Nationals within the municipal sector.

H.E. Eng Ahmed Shareef, Undersecretary, Department of Municipal Affairs explains,
"The Department of Municipal Affairs is collaborating with the three municipalities to communicate "Our Promise to You" at the NAJAH exhibition, which is a pledge from the municipal sector to their stakeholders and Abu Dhabi residents to provide enhanced municipal services and build a work culture of transparency, integrity, and innovation."

He added,
"Our promise to you assures current and future municipal sector employees that they are valued and provided with ongoing education, in-house training, and support."

The Department of Municipal Affairs and three relevant municipalities will be exhibiting and accepting applications at NAJAH from October 19th to 21st.

There will be several representatives from human resources present, as well as senior managers from each municipal department on hand to answer questions about working in the municipal sector and to meet with interested applicants.

About Department of Municipal Affairs:
The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) commenced operations in May 2007, following the Abu Dhabi Executive Council's decision to integrate the Emirate's municipal system. As a new government entity, the Department of Municipal Affairs was created to lead, coordinate and oversee three municipalities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. The DMA has a regulatory role while the service delivery and operations are at the municipality level.

On the 5th of May 2008, the Department of Municipal Affairs along with the Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality and Western Region Municipality embarked upon a new municipal services journey, with the signing of the historic Municipal Charter which aligns the DMA and three municipalities towards greater collaboration and cooperation.
