Western Digital launches SME storage

External storage solutions firm Western Digital has unveiled its latest network storage systems, aimed at small and home offices. The WD ShareSpace system is the company's first foray into the small office storage sector of the market.

ShareSpace is a four-bay storage system with a gigabit ethernet interface.

The system provides users with up to four terrabytes of storage, and features an inbuilt Mac/PC iTunes server.

Western Digital has said that users will be able to connect to the group's remote web access service.

The two terrabyte system will retail at $700, while the four terrabyte model will cost $1,000.
