Zanzibar President visits H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi in Ras Al Khaimah

The President of Zanzibar, H.E. Amani Abeid Karume, visited Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday October 16, 2008, where he met with H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and selected key businessmen at the Royal Palace.
Representatives of RAKEEN, the master developer of the Ras Al Khaimah Government, as well as RAK Properties accompanied H.E. and his 15 delegates on tours of various construction sites, and visits to the completed projects.
A multimedia presentation was also shown, which outlined the design layouts for projects currently under construction within the emirate.
The President's afternoon agenda included visits to RAK Hospital, RAK Airways, Saqr Port and Al Hamra Fort Hotel.
The visit of His Excellency, Amani Abeid Karume, to Ras Al Khaimah continues a long trading history that Zanzibar has had with the Arab World when it was a separate state.
Zanzibar united with the East African territory Tanganyika to form the country Tanzania in 1964. The President is the latest in a line of leaders to recently visit Ras Al Khaimah.
