The easy-to-use and expandable storage solution has a capacity of up to 6TB of network storage, which will enable SMBs to protect and share critical data. In addition to the ReadyNAS Pro, Netgear is also showcasing its complete range of ReadyNAS solutions during the exhibition at its stand (Z-Q1) in Zabeel Hall Q1, until the event closes on October 23, 2008.

As the newest and fastest member of the ReadyNAS product family, ReadyNAS Pro allows users across the LAN or WAN to store, back up and share digital data from a combination of Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms. It also supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and auto-expandable X-RAID2 to provide solid data protection against single or double disk failure. To ensure high availability to stored data, ReadyNAS Pro also features dual redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports for failover protection, as well as a compact desktop form factor, which is characteristic of all ReadyNAS Pro products.

Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, Netgear Middle East, said:

'Small- and medium-sized businesses have yearned for a high performance, high capacity NAS device tailored for their IT infrastructures and IT budgets.'

'We are particularly excited to announce the availability of the industry's first six-bay networked-attached storage product, our ReadyNAS Pro, as it will enable growing businesses to store and protect critical data on their networks like never before. SMBs have unique storage needs and our powerful ReadyNAS Pro provides the essential combination of performance, flexibility, ease-of-use, versatile features, and, perhaps most important, value,' he added.

With an Intel dual-core processor, ReadyNAS Pro outperforms all other network storage alternatives in its class - reading at over 108 MBps and writing at over 102 MBps. In addition to a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) and setup wizard for ease-of-use and setup, ReadyNAS Pro features an LCD display that provides quick and intuitive system status readings. The new ReadyNAS Pro network-attached storage solutions include RNDP6350 ReadyNAS Pro 1.5TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes three 500GB SATA drives); RNDP6310 ReadyNAS Pro 3TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes three 1000GB SATA drives); and RNDP6610 ReadyNAS Pro 6TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes six 1000GB SATA drives).

'The small business represents the next frontier for storage vendors and we are seeing continued market growth for network-attached storage devices in the Middle East market as businesses seek simple solutions to handle an ever-increasing amount of data across their networks. Vendors with a trusted brand that offer innovative ways to reduce storage management complexity while maintaining price competitiveness are in a good position to capture the market potential,' concluded Zeidan.

Netgear's ReadyNAS Pro is backed by a 5-year hardware warranty, and joins the company's family of industry-leading ReadyNAS products, which already include the four-bay ReadyNAS RND4000 series, the four-bay ReadyNAS rack mount model RNR4000 series, and the two-bay ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 series. The continuous growth of the ReadyNAS family stands as a testament to Netgear's commitment to provide innovative networking solutions for small and medium business as well as home users. The company's product offerings enable users to share internet access, peripherals, files, digital media content and applications among multiple personal computers and other internet-enabled devices.
