The meeting included a presentation about the achievements of ENDP, since its establishment in 2005, in training and employing 4,505 Nationals. The jobs for this year were mainly in retail, banking, insurance, tourism, real estate, and quasi-governmental agencies, among other sectors.
The board of trustees agreed on a plan to expand and include the northern emirates, to train Nationals and help them to find jobs either in their own areas or in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The aims of the plan are to achieve the objectives of DSP2015 and reduce the unemployment rate.
Ahmed Homaid Al Tayer, chairman of ENDP,
said:
'So far, the programme has achieved some of its objectives, and it will keep working on allocating National jobseekers into jobs that suit their skills and qualifications. The programme will also help Nationals to develop their skills to become productive members of society in the UAE, which is witnessing a huge development, and to enable members to keep up with the overall developments that are taking place in the UAE.'
He added, 'The team of ENDP has paid enormous effort and commitment to achieve the objectives set by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed for this programme ever since it was established. Our efforts will not stop until we help each and every National jobseeker in securing a job in the UAE.'
