The agreement will further enhance the already existing strategic partnership between the two companies, as it leverages Nokia's brand leadership and mobile distribution network strengthened by Etisalat's robust connectivity capabilities across the region.

The partnership will further solidify Etisalat's position as a leading mobile operator in the region through Nokia branded terminals and services. The products will be supplied to Etisalat via the established Nokia authorized distributors in each country where Etisalat has operations.

Mohammad Hassan Omran, Chairman of Etisalat, said:
"Etisalat is delighted to collaborate with Nokia in its endeavour to extend the reach of its customers. This partnership will certainly go a long way in not only strengthening our individual brand equity in the Middle East markets, but also in providing significant value to our customers who can now benefit from this association."

Tomi Paatsila, Vice President, Operator Business, for Nokia in India, Middle East and Africa, said:
"Today's agreement comes as an extension to our longstanding relationship with Etisalat, which has established itself as one of the leading operators in the region. As the number one mobile manufacturer in the world, Nokia's brand leadership and strong existing network of authorized distributors in the Middle East and Africa will provide valuable support for Etisalat's growth plans."

Earlier this year Etisalat was ranked as the 14th largest operators in the world and the largest in the Arab world by the Financial Times. It was later ranked the fastest growing mobile operator in the world in a second study from the Informa Group. Combined the Etisalat family of operators today services 74mn subscribers out of a total population of 1,600mn.
