The Real Estate Department team was felicitated at a ceremony held recently at the company's premises in the presence of Hamad Al Maghrabi, Director, Shiplift, members of Business Excellence Centre and other departments of the Drydocks World- Dubai.
Commenting on the achievement, Salah Saif Bin Dhaen Al Falasi, Divisional Manager, Real Estate, said:
"While setting plans to develop our customer services, the Real Estate Department carefully considered the importance of gaining customers' trust by providing them with best possible services regarding prices, promptness and quality. Our staff underwent training courses to familiarise themselves with all the modern developments in this field."
Ayoub Abdulla Ahmed, Manager, Real Estate, said:
"The ISO 9001:2000 Certification will help us improve the management system in order to achieve higher quality standards and to organise our operations so as to get maximum benefits from our resources. This will certainly help improve the company's overall performance quality."
One of the most important benefits from ISO 9001:2000 Certification is that it will boost customer satisfaction. It will also attract new clients, improve productivity, cost-effectiveness and enhance Drydocks World-Dubai's competitive edge.
The initial principles of quality management system were established more than three years ago as a preparation for the next step. The Real Estate Department team comprising Tahera Malik, Asma Al Mehairi, Nisha Thomas, Ahmed Hussain, and Khalid Al Ali have put in extraordinary efforts and dedication in the project be it taking part in "Kaizen" workshops or undergoing rigorous training courses. The department implemented the project through various stages supported by an intensive quality awareness programme. The team participated in developing quality procedures on core work activities with more emphasis on customer management.
The Real Estate team received an award from the Suggestions and Rewards Scheme and certificate of appreciation from the Business Excellence Center of Dubai World, earlier this year.
Drydocks World - Dubai, which celebrated its Silver Jubilee earlier this year, was established with the merger of Jadaf Shipbuilding and Dubai Drydocks. Jadaf serves smaller vessel owners, while Dubai Drydocks, with one of the largest repair yards in the world, focuses on the upper end of the market. The company also won the Ship Repair/Shipyard Award at the recently held sixth annual Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards ceremony.
