The environmental pledge for preservation of and sustainability was signed on Saturday.

In keeping with this initiative Pixel Digital Systems LLC., a UAE based leading distributor providing leading and smart office solutions to various corporate customers in the UAE has signed up with M/s Cybernet and M/s Posiflex which manufacture IT equipments that support RoHS. & the Green movement internationally.

Posiflex Technologies Inc., a Taiwan based company and the No.3 Point of sale terminal manufacturer in the world is proud to be a participant in the worldwide effort to provide green Point of Service/Sale (POS) equipments. The company is pledged to protecting the environment in manufacturing processes and products. We have implemented a set of policies and standards that all of our manufacturing and product design processes targeted to meet. Posiflex is committed to continuous refinement of the working environment and conditions related to safety and health of employees.

Posiflex has been carrying out a series of initiatives and research in manufacturing process:

As we stop utilizing hazardous substances, we review and test alternative substances to ensure that they will not have adverse impacts in keeping with the Restriction on Hazardous Substances law and for substances not presently banned under RoHS and related laws.

The environmental protection challenges for retailers and hoteliers -- the amount of energy used by their stores, hotels or offices, the volume of packaging from their products as well as the products they purchase for their business and the environmental impact of the products they offer.

Establishing better environmental practice can improve a company's ability to attract and retain customers; becoming more resource efficient, a company can make significant cost savings throughout its operation

Cybernet Inc embraces Green Earth Program for all their products

Cybernet continues to care deeply about our environment. As a company, we have taken steps to ensure both our products and our practices are environmentally sound. All our carton materials, including cardboard and foam, are made from recyclable materials and are fully recyclable themselves. We are committed to manufacturing products that not only meet and exceed computing expectations but also conserve energy. Our products are RoHS compliant and Energy Star 4.0 certified. With Energy Star qualification, Cybernet helps you save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE.

Institutions and businesses can save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually by purchasing and using Energy Star qualified products; the new Energy Star 4.0 standard for office equipment is projected to save Americans almost 5 billion dollars in 5 years. In short, purchasing our Energy Star qualified PCs not only saves the environment but will also save you money over time. By meeting the RoHS directive, Cybernet demonstrates a commitment to manufacture and supply products that protect environmental interests. This means all parts of our technology, including the metal, plastic, components, and plastic circuit boards are recyclable as well.

There are many options to consider when a PC is no longer useful to its owner. One might consider selling unneeded equipment, offering it to a family member or friend, or donating it to a school, charity, non-profit, or similar organization. When considering a donation, be sure to contact the organization to find out what equipment it accepts to avoid a situation where your charitable act instead creates a disposal situation. Another option is to give it to someone who can resell, refurbish, or use it for parts. Other places accepting donations would be your local Goodwill store as well as the National Cristina Foundation.

If the equipment is not suitable for donation, re-use, or resale, then Recycling is the option for you. Cybernet is here to assist you with recycling your old Cybernet products that may not be suitable for the above-mentioned practices. Certain states (such as Maryland and California) are already beginning to assist in recycling efforts, offering information regarding locations of permanent collection sites and local eCycling events. Websites such as E-cycling Central and Electronic Recyclers International can help anyone in the United States

In order to be a successful partner to the Green earth program a organization has to follow the RoHS directives... What is RoHS?

The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

Manufacturers need to understand the requirements of the RoHS Directive to ensure that their products, and their components, comply.

In the UAE some government departments have already started using the RoHS compliant products. The Abu Dhabi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah ports and customs, Abu Dhabi Ports and customs as well as Dubai Municipality have already started procuring this technology products supplied by Cybernet.

The space saving and power (electricity) saving products will help create smarter and elegant offices which not only help conserve energy and space but also ensure they lower their total cost of using technology.

The Products are now on display at Gitex -08 and can be seen on the Pixel Digital Stand in hall 7 - B7 42.
