HBG Holdings (HBG), a leading Jeddah and Dubai based private equity firm, has announced that it is one of the principal sponsors of 'Super Return Middle East 2008', the flagship event for the region's private equity sector, which opened today at the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai Festival City.

'Super Return Middle East 2008' will be a confluence of the most powerful global and regional private equity firms and practitioners.

The event boasts an exceptional line-up of regional and international speakers, and will bring into spotlight the increasingly important role the GCC is expected to play in global capital markets.

Commenting on his company's support to the event, Zulfi Hydari, Managing Director of HBG Holdings, said,
"We are very pleased to be sponsoring this prestigious conference. Super Return Middle East is the premier event for the regional private equity sector and forms part of a highly influential series across Europe and the Far East."

"The second edition of this annual conference comes at a most appropriate time, coinciding as it does with the global financial crisis, and the event will provide a much-needed platform for industry luminaries to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities that will be created for our industry and the markets in which we operate. The GCC economies, with their immense financial reserves and exceptional demand-driven growth, are in a unique position to capitalize on the new economic realities."

HBG Holdings' Chairman Mr. Abdallah Y. Al-Mouallimi is one of the keynote speakers at the event.

Taking the podium on the second day of the conference, Mr. Al-Mouallimi will highlight the particular potential of Saudi Arabia to diversify and expand into broader global markets and the critical role private equity will play in energizing the country's emerging domestic private sector.

'Super Return Middle East 2008' runs from October 13-15, 2008 at the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai Festival City.
