Due to increased security threats, organizations today are proactively looking into protecting their network with a more robust security solution like UTM that would offer the performance and features required to effectively protect them against increasingly sophisticated Internet threats. The Managed UTM service will help customers reduce the complexity of handling multiple security solutions and give them a centralized management through Etisalat.

According to Abdulla Hashim, VP, Enterprise Solutions, Etisalat:
"Our Managed UTM service introduction is being done in an environment where companies today are increasingly looking towards a comprehensive security gateway for real-time protection of their networks and content . Our service provides a truly integrated security service to customers from SMB and enterprises and will help them to easily and cost-effectively manage their network."

The Managed UTM security service will include multiple security features integrated into one device like Anti Virus, Anti Spam, Web Filtering and Deep Inspection(prevents application level attacks from flooding the network). It is a based threat management service that will be offered to the SME as well as large enterprises under six different packages based on a short or long term contract for an end to end solution covering CPE, security license and maintenance and support.

Customers will also benefit from multiple appliance options which cater to small branch offices and standalone businesses all the way to large enterprises. Using multi-faceted secure services gateway appliances from Juniper, these appliances can be accessed remotely for change of configuration, updating security patches and fault troubleshooting and restoration without the necessity to deploy manpower to the site. The monitoring of the service will be done at Etisalat's Central Network Operation Center (CNOC).Customers can now maximize their existing IT infrastructure and resources by focusing on core business competencies while entrusting security to Etisalat's ICT security professionals.
