E-Vision showcases the latest technology at Gitex 2008

At the 2008 edition of Gitex, E-Vision demonstrated its latest technologies which will bring the "Video on Demand" element into play for the benefit of customers in addition to being completely ready for HD (High Definition) content to be beamed into customer homes.

The E-Vision stand generated great response from Gitex visitors who showed great interest in the upcoming services.

In anticipation of the introduction of locally produced HD TV Content, E-Vision has already upgraded its network to be completely HD ready and procured HD setup boxes.

In addition to this, customers will soon have the flexibility and interactivity to view whatever content they want and whenever they want through "Video on demand" technology which will be introduced in the country by end of this year. Through VOD, users can select and watch video and clip content over the network as part of an interactive television system.

E-Vision is currently working with major content providers to bring some of their best content such as TV series, movies, talk shows, educational program and dramas in various languages (Arabic/ English/ Hindi) to ensure it meets the diverse requirements of UAE population. The company is also negotiating with a number of TV stations to carry some of their programs on the "Video on Demand" service which is expected to be launched soon. On the other hand MBC Group has provided content to the VOD service E-Vision is showcasing during Gitex 2008.

E-Vision is also working to equip future set top boxes with PVR (Personal Video Recorder) functionality. Using the recording functionality, users can now easily record live TV content and play it back when they want so that they don't miss any of their favourite programmes.

According to Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision, "All these elements which we are showcasing at Gitex this year is part of our attempt to bring the best in television technology so that our customers can experience the interactivity and the on demand experience that will transform their television experience as never before. This is part of our commitment to always go that extra mile for the sake of our customers."

E-Vision's product line-up includes 15 premium packages from all the major TV providers like Showtime, Orbit, ART, Pehla, Firstnet, TFC, Pinoy Plus and many more, in addition to the E-Vision Basic package.
