Etisalat upgrading to HSDPA+

Etisalat is upgrading its mobile network to HSDPA+ next year, giving customers the chance for higher speed 3G access from their phones. It will support speeds of above 30Mbits/s - usually up to 42Mbits/s. The upgrade should be ready by the second or third quarter of 2009, said Marwan Mohammed Al Qadi, Acting Senior Manager, product Marketing at Etisalat. He expected customers to use it for downloading movies, music, watching TV as well as for services such as surfing the web and sending or receiving email.
