Qtel profit climbs 50%

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has reported that its third-quarter profit rose 50%, missing analysts' forecasts, as it added customers in Indonesia. Third-quarter net income rose to 620.1 million riyals ($170.4m) from 412.2 million riyals. Profit was expected to advance 71% to 706 million riyals, according to an average of estimates from Global Investment House KSCC and ING Bank NV, reported Bloomberg.
