New environmental education programme launched

A new version of the environmental education programme, 'Enviro-Spellathon', organised by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) in conjunction with the Emirates Wildlife Society and partners, has been launched for the academic year 2008-2009 in schools across the UAE. Now in its eighth year, the programme introduces new sponsors as well as a new Interactive Enviro-Spellathon for the first time, as an additional online resource for teachers, parents and pupils. The aim of the program is to increase knowledge and awareness of the rich natural habitat of the UAE as well as local and global conservation issues.
