HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, with Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sector from the Government of Pakistan, inaugurating NAJAH at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The event welcomed H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Gaber Al Khaili, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council, the Assistant Secretary General for the General Secretariat of Abu Dhabi, and a member of the Executive Council of the Abu Dhabi Government and Mr. Rashed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Ministry of Education, who visited the exhibition and met a number of education institutions and businesses which were represented.

NAJAH, organised by IIR Middle East, takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Supported by the Abu Dhabi Education Council and the Ministry of Education, it comprehensively covers three major areas students and professionals are concerned with today: education, training and careers.

The opening day of the exhibition witnessed busloads of students, parents, and professionals descending upon Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with record high visitor pre-registration numbers. Exhibitors from all three sectors were well represented, with reputed educational institutes, training centres and leading international companies looking to recruit new graduates.

Visitors were able to talk to exhibitors and learn about their organisations as well as engage in job profiling assessments, participate in interactive seminars and speak to career counselors about future possibilities.

Many students and professionals took advantage of the launch of jobsabudhabi.ae, uploading their CVs to Abu Dhabi's official job recruitment website. Companies exhibiting at NAJAH were also engaged with the website, posting job opportunities and directly looking at the uploaded resumes of candidates.

Christine Weaver, Exhibitions Director for IIR Middle East, said:
"This has been a really important day for the education, training and careers markets in the Middle East. The 50% increase in exhibiting organisations and record number of visitors NAJAH received today has proven that education and professional development is a vital issue for the region."

He, added:
"The launch of jobsabudhabi.ae generated great interest among visitors and exhibitors alike, and our first day of seminar sessions was very well-received and highly attended. We look forward to welcoming our speakers for tomorrow to provide equally informative, interactive presentations for visitors."

Monday morning at NAJAH will be dedicated for female visitors only, a bid to boost women's education and careers in the UAE. From 10a.m. to 2p.m., women will have exclusive access to the event, meeting with exhibiting educational institutions and companies. Abu Dhabi's Department of Civil Service will host an interactive seminar at 10:15a.m. discussing opportunities for female employment in the public and private sectors.

NAJAH has been organised as a direct response to the growing number of young people in the UAE, which accounts for 50% of the population, and the UAE's continued commitment to higher education and professional development. NAJAH is a three day exhibition for students and their parents, job seekers and those looking to progress through training and HR professionals to access vital resources regarding education, training and careers.
