The company, which was launched in May 2003 under the leadership of HE Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of Royal Jet, was the Middle East's first licensed, commercial medevac provider and continues to be the most successful such operator in the region.

The statistic, released ahead of the company's participation at the Emergency Medical Congress, (Abu Dhabi - 26th-28th October 2008), further reinforces the company's position as the region's leading medical aviation service.
With demand for medical evacuation services forecast to rise across the Arab World,
Royal Med's presence at the 3-day congress which is expected to draw delegates from around the world, will also provide an important platform on which the company's highly trained medical team and state of the art equipment can be showcased.

"This affords us an ideal opportunity to meet with more private individuals, hospitals and embassies, who are looking for the most highly qualified and highly skilled management of patient transportation for those who require international medical evacuation,"

said Dr Nart Wardham, who leads the Royal Med team of 10 doctors and consultants, 15 paramedics and intensive care nurses.

Royal Med is one of the preferred providers for the armed forces, government health authorities as well as numerous medical insurance companies. The number of patients to have been successfully transferred by Royal Med since services began in 2003, recently passed the 1000 mark.

Royal Med's expertise extends across neo-natal, paediatric and adult clinical disciplines and the company already serves destinations as far afield as Europe, the Far-East, the Indian subcontinent, the US and other destinations within the Middle East.
