The service will be launched in the near future.

To be offered in partnership with applications provider Masergy and European telecom carrier Interoute, the service is demonstrated at the FVC (Masergy's value-added distributor in the UAE) stall at Gitex Technology Week 2008 that runs until 23 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The service is a compelling initiative that will allow du business companies to access MASERGY's Video Conferencing Network to hold virtual high quality 'face-to-face' meetings on demand without the associated costs of travel.

State-of-art Video conferencing over IP service (referred to as 'Tele-presence') is being increasingly adopted by businesses world-wide to increase productivity with some clients estimating up to 75% savings in overall travel time and associated costs.

Osman Sultan, CEO, du, said:
"du continues to work with partners like Interoute and Masergy to bring new and exciting services to the UAE. It is part of our international and wholesale strategy to work with global carriers and application providers to connect the UAE with the rest of the world. Video-over-IP service is a proven business tool and truly holds immense significance for our business customers."

John Dumbleton, Senior Vice President, Masergy, said: "Demand for tele-presence and high-definition video is growing, and we are excited to be part of a team that can help businesses take full advantage of these next generation video technologies. We will be glad to demonstrate the strengths of this solution to visitors at Gitex."

Gareth Williams, CEO, Interoute, said: "To enable this exciting project Interoute worked with du to provide a high capacity Ethernet service to Dubai in only 4 days. This speed of delivery, combined with our unparalleled reach and capacity will enable business customers to meet their communication needs across multiple geographies.
