The consul visited leading firms from the Jordanian ICT sector who shared with Her Excellency their latest innovative IT solutions showcased during the event.

Mohammad Khalil, Head of the Jordanian pavilion, said:
"Participation in Gitex is a vital opportunity to create awareness in the Arab and international markets on the competitive IT industry in Jordan and to explore the latest development in technology. It also allows us to build a dialogue with our neighboring countries and find out ways for collaboration to better serve the communities in the Middle East."

"We believe that there are plenty of opportunities out there for synergies among governments in the region and the private sectors. We hope that Gitex is a good platform for this dialogue and for introducing new initiatives that would help bridge the digital gap in the region," he added.

The ICT sector in Jordan has witnessed a growth of 20% over the last year. This growth is a direct result of the government's focus on this sector through a clear strategy to increase internet penetration by 35% and to double the human capital in ICT.

The pavilion hosts eleven companies nine of which are members of int@j, showcasing their innovative solutions that address a wide range of sectors for the regional and global markets.
