Michel I. Ayat, CEO, Arabian Automobiles, said,
"This is the perfect venue to showcase Nissan's impressive strides in the field of automotive technology, one of the reasons for its continued success, especially here in the region. With Xterra and Qashqai, we are showcasing some pretty cool and sophisticated technologies that we are confident will appeal to and fascinate automotive enthusiasts in this part of the world."
One of the highlights of the Nissan display of the Xterra and the Qashqai is the VQ engine which has been named to the annual Ward's 10-Best Engines list for the 13th straight year, the only one that has been part of the list since the prestigious award has been presented.
Both the Xterra and the Qashqai now utilise drive-by-wire technology, which connects some of the vehicles major systems - such as steering, braking and transmission - with wires and electrical impulses. This frees up space while also help reduce vehicle weight, resulting in gains in performance, economy and emissions.
Other major enhancements include a new audio package, intelligent key, Bluetooth, among others.
"We've also chosen to showcase the major changes that have been incorporated in the 2009 Xterra, foremost of which is the availability of four models - X, S, SE and a special Off-Road package - making easier for customers to determine the exact Xterra model for their particular needs and lifestyles," added Ayat.
