Etisalat signs global master agreement with Huawei

Etisalat today signed an agreement with Chinese company Huawei to provide mobile devices and 3G terminals to Etisalat and its subsidiaries.

The agreement means that Etisalat will be able to introduce its own range of telecommunications devices and handsets, which will be branded with the identities of Etisalat or its subsidiaries.

"This agreement reflects the strength of our relationship with Huawei, which has been formed over many years of working together,"


said Mohammad Hassan Omran, Chairman of Etisalat.

"This agreement will enhance our ability to provide our services to more segments in the countries that we are operational in and we aim to give our customers more options and value added services."

Dr. Liang Hua Senior Executive Vice President, Huawei's Executive Management team expressed that "Further to our growing strategic partnership with Etisalat as a end-to end network system partner, Huawei is pleased to be the major terminal partner. We strongly endeavor to support Etisalat in its quick expansion in the global telecom market. Huawei will continue to offer Etisalat full series of products and ensure fast delivery. We grow with Etisalat step by step".

The signing was conducted at Etisalat's stand in GITEX between H.E. Mohammad Hassan Omran, and Dr.Liang Hua, Senior Executive Vice President, Huawei Executive Management Team. Mr. Wangjiangding President of the Middle East Region and President to the Global Huawei Etisalat Key Account was also present at the signing ceremony.
