Tamkeen progress review during visit to Career Expo 2008

The efforts of Tamkeen partners to provide world-class training and career growth opportunities to Bahrainis was in the spotlight during a visit to the Career Expo 2008 by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Tamkeen Chairman H.E. Dr. Nezar bin Sadiq Al Baharna.

During his visit to Career Expo 2008, an annual employment and career counseling fair that seeks to inform the hundreds of Bahraini visitors and youth of job opportunities and new careers in the modern workplace, Dr. Al Baharna met with Tamkeen partners such as the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), the College of Health Sciences (CHS), the Bahrain Institute of Hospitality & Retail (BIHR), Ernst & Young, Mena Business Services (MBS), Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-MUB), Venture Capital Bank (VCB), and Gulf Air.

Dr. Al Baharna was briefed by partner representatives about developments in their training programmes, student intake, career potential in their areas of expertise for Bahrainis and how this is being tapped.

"Bahrain is at an exciting point in its development and successful human resources management is the key to future progress," commented Dr. Al Baharna, "Tamkeen is following a strategy and action plan that empowers Bahrainis for career growth and economic enrichment and at the same time, we have strengthened new and existing training services providers in the Kingdom. In the years ahead, we intend to build on this synergy between Tamkeen and its partners to translate the vision of a new and prosperous Bahrain into reality."
