With record breaking attendance at the Exhibition, collective participation of the DMA, Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City, and Western Region Municipalities proved successful with considerable interest from professionals and career seekers who visited the booth. This significant presence serves to highlight the importance of the municipal sector's 'Our Promise to You' campaign, a pledge from the DMA and Municipalities of their commitment to recruiting talented Emiratis to join the growing organization and become a part of the new municipal sector that is dedicated to providing viable opportunities for the future generation of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

H.E. Eng. Ahmed Shareef, Undersecretary, Department of Municipal Affairs, praised the event as an ideal platform for recruitment efforts and educational institutions to speak to UAE Nationals, saying:
"Not only did NAJAH offer valuable resources to students and professionals looking to enhance their education and career options; this successful event also allowed the Department of Municipal Affairs to coordinate a municipal wide recruitment effort; effectively communicating our assurance to provide the best possible services to the public and a rewarding career path for municipal sector employees."

The Department of Municipal Affairs and three Municipalities had over 1500 applications for positions within the four organizations during the Exhibition. Applicants utilized the on-site application programs, uploading their resumes and applying directly for a municipal sector career; applicants also had the opportunity to speak with human resource managers and representatives from throughout the municipal system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Municipal Affairs have extensive plans to generate more projects for the municipal sector that showcase the 'Our Promise to You' campaign and enhance how the municipalities communicate with the public it serves.

About Department of Municipal Affairs:
The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) commenced operations in May 2007, following the Abu Dhabi Executive Council's decision to integrate the Emirate's municipal system. As a new government entity, the Department of Municipal Affairs was created to lead, coordinate and oversee three municipalities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. The DMA has a regulatory role while the service delivery and operations are at the municipality level.

On the 5th of May 2008, the Department of Municipal Affairs along with the Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality and Western Region Municipality embarked upon a new municipal services journey, with the signing of the historic Municipal Charter which aligns the DMA and three municipalities towards greater collaboration and cooperation.
